Well VBS 2008 is over!!! We had a great time, lots of laughter,
plenty of volunteers, and learned lots too. Thank you to everyone
who participated - we would never have had such a fun program without
you!
VBS Donations
On Saturday, August
23rd, Elaine Hayes, VBS Director, and three of Broadway’s
young people delivered the “Treasure Chests” decorated and filled by the
VBS children during their week on “Sonlight Island.” Cody Lynch,
Samantha Mitra and Solomon Mitra accompanied Elaine to the Salvation
Army Family Shelter where they helped carry over 40 shoe boxes of small
toys, snacks, toiletry items, crayons, pencils, tee shirts and other
items into the shelter. They also helped unload three large boxes of
canned and boxed food items donated by individuals and the former food
pantry at Broadway. There were also cash donations totaling $55.62 from
the children and “Seeking Christ’s Way” Sunday School class. The
Salvation Army was very appreciative of all the wonderful donations and
gave the young people a quick tour of the family shelter. Many thanks to
all who contributed to this great mission project.
